December 2nd, oh what a night!
Since 1943, our Brockport Smiles family has been proudly caring for the smiles of Brockport. Dr. Thaney and the entire Brockport Smiles team feel incredibly privileged and thankful to be a part of the wonderful Brockport community. That's why on December 2nd, Dr. Thaney and several members of the Brockport Smiles team were excited to take part in Brockport's annual Winter Gala.
A great cause, a great night
The Winter Gala allows members of the Brockport community to acknowledge and award community partners while also raising funds to support The College at Brockport, including scholarships that provide affordable, high quality, higher education opportunities for students in need. Last year's Winter Gala pulled in over $145,000 to support student success!
In addition to the night supporting a great cause, the night was also a great time. This year's Winter Gala was held at the beautiful Wintergarden by Monroe's. From tuxedos and gowns, to sparkling lights, to delicious food, to live dance and drum line performances, we had a true ball at the Winter Gala. Members of the Brockport and surrounding greater Rochester community came out dressed to impress for this memorable night. You might not have even recognized Dr. Thaney as he rocked his tux coupled with stylish bow tie.
Notable Brockport alumni were also out in full force supporting the community and celebrating where they got their start, The College at Brockport. From CNN's legal analyst Joey Jackson, to CNN news correspondent Ryan Nobles, to 13WHAM News' Ginny Ryan, to Corey James and Megan Carter of 98PXY and Sandy Waters of 98.9 The Buzz, it was easy to feel a bit star struck by these hometown heroes.
The Winter Gala was truly a terrific reminder of how the College at Brockport, as well as the entire Brockport community, play such a positive role in our corner of Western New York, and that together we can accomplish great things. At Brockport Smiles, we certainly feel lucky to be apart of it.
